six proposed PORTLAND areas for neighborhood economic development investments

The map below identifies six proposed areas for neighborhood economic development investments under this initiative:

1. NE 42nd Avenue
2. Cully Boulevard
3. Parkrose
4. Rosewood
5. SE Division Street (124th - 148th Avenues)
6. SE Division Street and 82nd Avenue

Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative Areas will use public and private funding for a continuum of services that position businesses for economic success.

Proposed Area Criteria:

a. Not in an existing urban renewal area
b. Priority Neighborhood experiencing:
Lagging commercial investments;
Higher than citywide poverty rate (16%);
and/or Lower than citywide median
household income ($48,500);
c. Concentration of minority-owned and/or
serving businesses;
d. Concentration of locally-owned businesses
e. Commercial zoning/use
f. Business/community organization capacity

The final selection of areas will be based on milestones met, community interest and commitment.

This is a great opportunity for the CHURCH to get involved in bettering a community.
