How Portland Influences Culture

“Food trucks first brought eyeballs to Portland. The idea of being laid-back and carefree, opening a dream idea, creating the communities out of “pods.” We saw a culture and attitude about food and life. You can’t overstate the importance of Portland in setting a vibe that influenced the rest of the country.”http://t.co/8VthKcMMBJ

Consumer Spending in the Northwest

Thinking about planting or partnering in the NW? Check out these facts:

Oregonians spent $35,762/person on consumer goods, taking 24th on the national average.

  Washingtonians spent $39,110/person.

In each state, 20% of their money was spent on housing and utilities, and 16% for healthcare. This equates to $7,677/person for WA and $7,188/person for OR.

OR spent 9.5% on food and beverages outside of the home, taking 3rd in the nation (only behind Hawaii and Nevada).
