10 Partners Needed for Portland Church Planting

This is the Southwater front in Portland OR. This urban condo district was born in 2006. Several thousand people live in these condos and apartments.

The dream of Portland Church Planting is to see a new church formed in this urban 20-minute community. None exist here today.

As you worship and learn at the #sbcpc #sbcpastorsconf #sbc2011 #sbc11 will you pray for Portland and consider partnering with us to see new churches started. #sendnamb #sendPortlandOR

Who Will Plant a Church in This 20-minute Community?

Mississippi Ave is a trendy NE neighborhood in Portland OR in need of a new church. Who at the sbcpc, sbcpastorsconf, sbc2011 sbc11, and sbc will stand in the gap for her and partner with www.portlandchurchplanting.org to make it happen?

The Passion Shaping Portland Church Planting

"Church planting is legitimate only if set within a broader mission context. Divorced from this context, church planting may represent little more than ecclesiastical expansionism." Stuart Murray

At Portland Church Planting we are not interested in just ecclesiastical expansion but in seeing curious God-seekers come to faith in Jesus and new churches formed.

We are passionate about reaching those who are not attracted by our current forms of church planting. It is estimated 60% of our population falls into this category while 95% of our church planting efforts target the other 40%. We believe this is a missiological problem we are willing to address in Portland.

Join us in praying for Portland, advocating for Portland and sending followers of Jesus to live in this place with the Gospel.

Church Planting

Church Planting begins by followers of Jesus planting their life in a PLACE/neighborhood /community. HERE, followers of Jesus share the hope they have found in His Kingdom. Where do you need to be scattered from in order to proclaim this hope? Why not Portland OR?
