Stay among.....
And die.....
"Word became flesh and dwelt among us."
People want to GO. But, they don't want to GO and STAY! Not STAYING is a problem!
MISSION requires STAYING. Jesus came and dwelt in obscurity for 30 years. Are we willing not to be noticed in our staying?
Stay and make your city your family, make your neighbors your family. STAY!
Stop running and going and STAY....THEN.....
Stay among! Among them in their RHYTHMS. You know you are on mission when it gets messy.
Jesus got spilled on....all of our sinfulness.
Jesus said, "don't take them out of the world, leave them in the world." The power of the gospel will protect them.
Stay among them......AND DIE!
We (the church) affirm they should be comfortable (disciples) in the church. The church doesn't call people to die. People don't step out in mission because they aren't willing to die. Leaders will die for them. Don't!
Don't be Jesus for your church. Lead them in Jesus mission.
Biggest mistake in starting SOMA: "As father sends me....Jesus became flesh...." I stopped reading. I told people to be Jesus to people.
