In Portland, coffee is serious business. BUT It is more than business for those of us who frequent these establishments.
It is foremost about the coffee. But it is more than coffee. It is about community, connections, vibe, tribe, presentation, relaxation, space, work, _________ (fill-in-the-blank). We do coffee but it is more than coffee indeed!
As a strategist and catalyst it also shows me where significant third places are found in the community.
