At the recent @inhabitcon Michael Frost talked about what is required of leaders in their neighborhood. The passage above and M. Frost comments require the following:
1. It requires PROXIMITY to the people of the neighborhood. This usually requires hearing stories!
2. It requires BEING PRESENT. We are God's ambassadors and His messengers. Be present with all.
3. It requires living in a POSITION of GRACE. We are saved by grace and for the grace of God there go I.
4. It requires PASSION. The kind of passion which produces suffering (the passion of the Christ). So committed, you would be willing to suffer for the city, neighborhood as you stand in Christ.
5. It requires PROCLAMATION. JESUS IS KING. He is ruler of all. Announce it.
6. It requires you to PRAY.
As a leader, develop some spiritual habits which move you to a new posture into the neighborhood where you live.
