Selling the Pearl District in Portland OR

I was prayer walking the Pearl district in downtown Portland last week. I've posted a little about this walkable community in the past. I'll have a "SPOTLIGHT " feature up on the blog soon.

The Pearl District is one of the most walkable communities in Portland. Approximately 12000 people live in this high rise community of apartments and condos. Neighborhood shops line the streets. Upscale and iconic restraunts pearch themselves amidst the towering buildings. Coffee is plentiful and varied. Powell's bookstore anchors the community to the south and to the north Cavalia's tent canvases the landscape with the 405 bridge providing the frame.

Check this video out produced by the encore and pray to the Lord of the harvest to send more laborers to the Pearl District :

Planting churches in the urban environment is exciting and challenging. It will require a different approach than what we have commonly experienced with planting churches in the suburbs. It will require a team of missionaries sowing the Gospel abundantly and making disciples much like our international missionaries experience in foreign lands.

Pray for the Pearl and let the Lord of the Pearl sell you on how to participate in praying, going, living, funding a church plant in the Pearl.
