OWNERSHIP

Many churches and church plants miss this important point. It is usually just the planter or the pastor who OWN's the vision and therefore own's the mission, values and behaviors flowing from those values.

If you as a leader fail to appropriate the proper OWNERSHIP, you will have members/partners but never stakeholders. You should cast vision, but you should provide a context for others to dream and shape a vision as well. You should constantly be recruiting owners and helping people take ownership for the ideas/task/responsibilities they are PASSIONATE about and ACCOUNTABLE for in the organization. Failure to establish strong lines of COMMUNICATION are a necessity.

Look at your life and your organization. Is there a task or project suffering from a lack of ownership?
