Looking to capture momentum in your organization as a leader? Dan Rockwell, Leadership Freak, suggest the following:
1. STOP PRETENDING. Stop pretending you want change when in reality you want comfort! The best option is growing comfortable with constant change.
2. STOP COMPLAINING. Complaining is comfortable self-confirmation. Stop passing the buck and start creating momentum. It is easy to complain because it is a facade of power. Complaining rarely instigates change and definitely can't sustain change.
3. STOP AVOIDING. In order to gain momentum you will probably face conflict and opposition. Don't avoid it - deal with it.
4. STOP LIMITING. Often times, there is more than one solution to the problem. Usually, there is more than one way to capture the momentum necessary. Do your homework but make a decision, pull-the-trigger, otherwise you will drain any momentum at all!
What do you need to stop to help move your organization forward?
What do you, as a leader, need to stop in order to keep moving forward?
