The Priesthood of Beleivers in the Workplace

I've been following Business as Mission for a few months now.  It started with my own reflections on how we as a region could start a church planting movement with absolutely no finances.  How could we begin to re-think the leadership of these type of movements and expand our leadership base?  I wanted to challenge some of my assumptions and step outside of my own "church planting box" and church staff paradigm to consider some alternative ways forward.  I'm still dreaming, praying, thinking.....  Here are a few snippets from the article.  To read the entire article, click through the title above.

"I again thought of walls, and prayed that the wall of misperception and misunderstanding that existed between the “professional minister” and the “ordinary believer” would finally begin to come down.....Please understand that a small minority (perhaps one to five percent of the “professional vocational ministers”) do understand the problem and are modeling the biblical paradigm. Another fifteen to twenty percent may think they understand (and may even preach it), but they do not model it. I am convinced that a full eighty percent of “ordinary” believers do not understand their calling as full-time ambassadors of Christ....."

The author then address these topics:
  • Obstacles for Pastors and Christian Leaders
  • Obstacles for the Laity
  • Suggestions for Pastors in Equipping the Laity
  •  Suggestions for Workplace Leaders to Build Bridges with the Pastor
